Bergen township and how it came to be.
During a brief war called (Kieft's War) in the upper part of New Jersey. A group of eighty Lenape's were killed, by Dutch settlers on the night of February 25, 1643. Known as the massacre of Povian.
Given way to what we know as the oldest township in New jersey.
