On May 8,1587 a group of people of over a hundred men,woman,and children set sail to cross the Atlantic ocean. Concerns for the hurricane season forced the colonists to stop thier journy so they settled on an island off the coast of North Carolina at Cesapeke bay. August 27,1587 John White returned to England to get supplies. Three years later he returned and found the island desserted. The only trace left was the letters "cro" carved into a tree and the word "crotan" carved into a fence post.

November 11,1620 got to land at Cape Cod. The passengers decided to look for more land so the explorers went to look for weeks when they found the perfect spot at Plymouth on December 21,1620. Squanto joined the pilgrim colony he taught them how to plant crops and trap animals. One year later the pilgrims celebrated with a feast which was the first ever Thanksgiving.
