    Netherland was controlled by Dutch but people from other countries started settling there too. King Charles the second told his brother that he could have Netherlands if he could rule it. In 664 he won against Stuyvesant and split Netherlands into New jersey and New York

    The Massachusetts Bay (1628–1691) was an English Colony on the east coast of North America in the 17th century in and around the broad opening of Massachusetts Bay, the northernmost colony of the several colonies later reorganized as the Province of Massachusetts Bay. The lands of the settlement were located in central New England--now Massachusetts, with initial settlements situated on 2 harbors and surrounding land, about 15.4 miles apart—the areas around today's cities of Salem & Boston.
  • The Maryland colony is founded

    Maryland was founded by the Calvert’s, a wealthy family. They made Maryland a refuge Catholics. King Charles the first gave permission for them to start a colony. the first colonists arrived in 1633.

    Carolina was divided among 8 people. they made a law that allowed free white male people to choose some leaders and to make some laws, but still most of the power was in the kings and 8 people. they later split Carolina into two North Carolina and South Carolina. Georgia was originally made for debtors. Georgia was a slave free state until the demand for slaves was very high.

    In the 1600s the colonists spread across New England where many Native Americans lived. The colonists thought the Native Americans would leave. In 1675 may more disagreements happened over the land. so, there was a war between them. Many people died and Native Americans were forced to give up their land.

    King Charles owed money to the father of William Penn. So, he gave land and permission to William Penn to start a colony. He named it Pennsylvania and wanted religious toleration and Native Americans to live there. In 1682 he leaned to speak Native American language and wrote The Frame of Government of Pennsylvania. It gave people the right of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to a trial by jury

    Before Fort Mose slaves had no place to be free. Then they finally started their own village in 1738. The village was called Fort Mose. some slaves were freed others bought their freedom.

    Before Indigo was a major cash crop it was planted by a girl and it grew well in the southern colonies. Then it became a major cash crop. In no time, Planter started planting indigo too.

    This was called the Great Awakening because it renewed peoples interest in religion. Religious Toleration also grew it was also very important in the middle colonies.
