This is the hard life that Anthony theSlave lived in. This was the period of diminishing progress that Anthony A slave had to live through. -
Act X- Negroes were not allowed to bear arms
This act meant that the negroes were not allowed to carry weapons. They could not kill for food or defend themselves from another indian attack.They would be defenseless. -
Court Document A- Anthony the slave aquires land.
Life started to improve but then progress kept diminishing. He did get land but then there was the slave law to not buy slaves of christian religion and Anthony had land that needed to be taken care of. -
Act III- All negroes that were baptized were not dismissed from slavery
Being a christian was the only thing stopping them from being free so they went for it. they did not care about reading the bible they just got baptized as fast as they could so they could be free -
Act IV- African Americans could not buy christian slaves
It was prohibited by law for an African American to buy a slave that is christian. Most africans could not buy slaves because most of the slaves had been baptized before this time to evade ActIII. -
Act XXII- negroes to be real estate
All negroes are to be considered to be real estate. The english- men did not consider the Africans to be actual people. They were like the houses that they lived in.
