    Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire on December 17, 2010 in Tunisha. He wasn't allowed to sell vegstables on the streets of Sidi Bouzid becasue he didn't have a permit. Mohamed's sucuide sparked a protest about jobs. This protest later spread to the capital Tunis.

    The tension in Tunisha hasn’t decreased since Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire. 1,000 protesters mostly unemployed graduates protested outside the main office of the workers union. On Friday December 24, 2010 a protester was shot in Menzal Bouzaiene. Another young man in Sidi Bouzid electrocuted himself because he was tires of being unemployed. The government says the violence is isolated.

    On thursday Jan, 10 Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali who has been president of Tunisha since 1987 announced he wold be stepping down in 2014. He is 74 and is Tunisha's second president since its indepedence from France in 1956. In rescent weeks over 60 people have been killed as a result of violance.

    Fourteen people have been killed in Kasserine and Regueb the west and centre of the country. Five people have died in Thala on Saturday January 8. In Kasserine three banks, a police station, a filling station, amd a police car have been set on fire. Also in Kasserine five people have been killed. In Regueb four people have been killed. Protesters say actual death rates are higher than officials have admitted.

    President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali and his family have fled to Saudi Arabia. The 74 year old stepped down from office after 23 years in office after protest over economic issues. When he first boarded the plane there were rumors about where he was going. The French media is reporting his request to land in France but his request was denied.

    Manchester Airport sends empty planes to Tunisia
    Manchester, United Kingdom has sent three empty planes to Tunisia to bring back British tourist stuck in the country. The planes have enough room to carry 800 out of the estimated 3,000 people stuck in Tunisia. Not everyone on the plane will be from the Manchester some are from London, Scotland, and the Midlands. The rising violence in Tunisia has swept the country has prevented these people from leaving the country.

    In the past two days Tunisia has had three presidents. The first was Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali who was lastly re-elected in 2009. The next one was Mohammed Ghannouchi who took became president yesterday even though him becoming president violated the constitution. The current president is Foued Mebazza who was speaker of the house and who should have became president as soon as Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali was out of office.

    Holidaymakers announced Tourist who have booked flights through Holidaymakers from the United Kingdom to Tunisia will have to wait to see if they qualify for refunds. Canceling trips now could result in the loss of a deposit. Holidaymakers is now being criticized because their German counterpart is offering full refunds or rearranged holidays to everyone who books their flight before April 14, 2011.
