    DAY OF RAGE
    The protests start on a national holiday commemorating the police force. Thousands of Egyptions marched down to downtown Cairo, going to the National Democratic Parties' offices. The police and the protestors clash after a few hours of calm protesting. The police release tear gas and water cannons upon the huge wave of crowds. As the police are bombarding the protestor they are shouting "Down with Mubarak".

    Mubarak speech
    On the 29th of January Mubarak gives a speech refusing to step down from office. Mubarak also deploys the military to protect the Egyptian Museum, which holds thousands of priceless artifacts. The troops begin to fire warning shots to try and scare away the angry mob of protestors. The protestors do not react to the warning shots as the military was hoping for. Leaders of other countries say that they are worried for Egypt because of the actions occuring.

    Mubarak Statement
    Mubarack annouces that he will not run for re-election, but refuses to step down. Mohamed ElBaradei, the leader, claims that his promise is an act of deception and he should not be trusted. Abdelhalim Kandil, another leader, says that his promise is not enough and he must resign. Barack Obama, USA president, praises the military for its patroitism and its allowance of peaceful protest. More protestors join (suspected to be over 1 million protestors)

    Heavy gunfire and tanks were used the previous days. there are suspected to be about 300 dead and much more wounded. The protestors still stand their ground despite the deaths. The protestors chant to Mubarak to leave. Thousands remain in Tahrir square.

    The Muslim Brotherhood says in a statement that it "has decided to participate in a dialogue round in order to understand how serious the officials are in dealing with the demands of the people". Banks reopen for 3.5 hours. Ayman Mohyeldin is detained by the military and released 7 hours later.

    The labor union joins the protests. 34 political prisoners released. Death toll at 302. Authority has been given to the military to "protect" aka open fire.

    On this day the cultural minister resigns. He claims it is due to a health reasons. The people believe otherwise. The Egyptian court bans several prime ministers to leave the country and freezes their assets. Rumors of Mubarak's resignation.
  • VICTORY

    VICTORY
    President Mubarak resigns as president. Mubarak gives his power to the military. Thousands of protestors go home. Protestors celebrate their victory.
