Spain and Portugal were afraid that the each other would claim some newly discovered territories. Resulting in the Treaty of Tordesillas, it was for a line of demarcation extending north to south though the Atlantic Ocean and easternmost part of the South American continent. -

Aztecs were defeated by Hernan Cortes/Spaniards
Cortes arrived at Tenochtitlan, the Aztec were unfamiliar with their types of weapons, which gave a great advantage in fighting them. Tentsions between Spaniards arose with the Aztecs and took Montezuma hostage. Cortes recieved new soldiers, because many were killed, and the city surrendered. -

Incas were defeated by Francisco Pizarro
Piarro arrived bringing steel weapons, which the Inca had not seen any of those before. Atahuallpa was captured by Pizarro and executed him, Pizarro and his soldiers captured the Inca capital and established a new one. -
