The current state of instruction is very traditional. As a joint effort between Educational Services and the Information Technology department a 1:1 pilot was planned and implemented to identify a device to bring 1:1 learning to YCUSD
-
After 3 semesters the 1:1 pilot committee, consisting of teachers, instructional coaches, IT staff, and administrators, will make a recommendation to the Governing Board Tech Sub-Committee on tested devices to use for implementation.
-
Meeting with the 1:1 pilot total team to debrief and plan for implementation. This may have follow up meetings with several groups.
-
The intent of our rollout plan is to begin with an opt in model. Teachers would apply to the 1:1 program and sign up for trainings.
-
Hiring of TOSAs and IT staff that are specifically dedicated to the 1:1 program
-
Train administrators in tech tools and the SAMR Model.
-
Ongoing training and planning begins with our Ed Tech TOSA's
-
A series of training and planning session for teachers will take place throughout the Fall Semester. A teacher who would like to be a part of the 1:1 program must complete all sessions before receiving devices for his or her class(es).
-
Devices will be issued to classrooms for teachers who have completed the 1:1 application and all applicable training.
