  • Thomas Jefferson

    Thomas Jefferson was the author of the book "Decleration of Independence" and the third presedent of the US. The book was written in 1776 and he became president in 1801 and retired in 1809. He would often spend 10 hours a day studying and reading about the politics of the US and independence. In 1807 Jefferson sent a bill to ban the importation of Slaves into the US. He made on of the most important days in america, Independence day.
  • Invasion of Australia

    Capatain Arthur Phillip was the first to make settlements in Australia. They landed in New South Wales, Botany and later moved on to Port jackson. The eleven fleets settled not realising the Aboriginies that already lived in Australia. The aboriginies were introduced to new things like farming, tabacco, clothing and many more things. For a long time Aboriginal children were taken away from there parents and sent to Christian camps, where they were taught how to be like the english.
  • Making of AFL

    The AFL started out as the VFL (Victorian Football League). The VFL was a group of various Victorian Footy team such as Carlton, Richond, Essendon and many more. Gradually teams from all around Australia started joining in to compete against eachother. Eventually other teams like Port, Swans and others had joined and because there were so many more the name was changed to Australian Football league.
  • iron clad warship

    The iron clad ships were invented byJames Buchanan Eads. They were steam propelled and were covered in iron which helped their purpose. They were designed for battle with other warships. An event they occured in was the battle of hamptons March 8,1862.
  • World War 1

    WW1 lasted from July 1914 to November 1918. There were more than 140 wars during the whole things. The battles were said to be in Europe, Africa, some parts of america and other places. It was one of the largest wars ever to be held. Some of the battles are battle of Nek, August 1915 and Battle of Balleu wood, June 1916. Many towns and even some small countries took years to rebuild and to this day bodies are still lost in the battle fields of other places.
  • WW1: Battle of the ANZACS

    The ANZAC battle was a war on the penisula of Gallipoli, Turkey. It was started when Turkish government offended the British Empire. The battle went for a long eight months until it ended on the 20th of December, 1915. The English allied troops did not succeed so they retreated back to where they were from. There we around 8000 casualties, many people did not return home to their families. In rememberance of this battle, every April 15th there is a cermony held to appreciate what they did for us
