    After Germany invades Poland, Britain and France, who had swon to defend Poland, jumped to Poland's aid and told Hitler to withdraw from Poland. Hitler declined to respond to Great Britain and France as he stayed in Poland. This angered the British and French, who then declared war on Germany.

    The Russian winters were too much for the German soldiers who surrendered at Stalingrad. The Russians then began a counterattack that pushed the Germans westward.
