    Annexation of Sudetenland
    October 1 through the 10 of the year 1938, dictator Adolf Hitler assigned the annexation of Sudetenland to Germany. Hitler was then able to threaten war over the issue of the annexation of Sudetenland. Germany wanted Sudetenland because they were already "ethnically" German.

    Pearl Harbor became the name of the surprise attack of the Japanese on the US military base. They were then able to destroy 20 naval bases and killing around 2,400 civilians. This event led president Roosevelt to declare war on Japan. After wanting to remain neutral in the war.

    Only nine hours of the attack on Pearl Harbor The Philippines got attacked from the Japanese. The Philippines played a large role during World War 2. Japan had made a goal to take control of the Philippine islands in order to control the Southwest Pacific and in order to take valuable minerals from the Dutch East Indies.

    Battle of Stalingrad was a battle between Nazi Germany and the Axis Powers. The battle lasted from August 1942 till February 1943. The overall goal of the war was to take control of the city of Stalingrad in Russia. Hitler wanted the town because of his name and the opportunity for more propaganda. Russia wanted the city in order to keep its own territory. At the end it was the Russians who won and many German soldiers dying of starvation and disease in Russia.

    During WW2 Japanese immigrants were looked down upon in the United States. During this time many Japanese American became incarcerated in concentration camps. Many Japanese Americans had their homes ravaged by special forces and with Roosevelt new order 9006 any suspected enemy had consequences. These camps were poorly maintained and many diseases surrounded.

    Battle of Midway
    The battle of Midway was primarily fought with only aircrafts. The plan with the battle of Midway was for Japan to attack Midway and trap the Americans. The Japanese were trying to recreate the event of Pearl Harbor. However, the plan backfired leading the Japanese to lose the battle and to stop spreading their influence throughout the pacific. Overall, this allowed for the Americans to gain confidence. This battle took place from June 4 to June 7th.

    This was the first major offensive victory for the allies in the pacific theater. US marines launched an attack of the Guadalcanal air base in order to get the control of the lines of communication between the United States and Australia. At the end, the Americans were the ones who won the territory.

    The fall of Berlin had many significant events. One can see the surrender of the german army and the death of Adolf Hitler. More than 90,000 German soldiers were killed and over 200,000 had been injured. During this time the Berlin wall had been up separating both sides of Germany. During this time the wall was finally torn down. This reconnected families that had been separated because of the disastrous war.

    Meeting at Potsdam
    Another meeting in which thoughts about what to do after the war were seen. Leaders such as president Truman, Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill spoke about their actions after World War 2. However, this meeting issued a declaration demanding an unconditional surrender from Japan. This meeting lasted from July 17 till August 2.

    Hiroshima located in Japan, became the first city in the world to be struck by an atomic bomb. It all occurred when a US bomber dropped the atomic weapon that wiped out 90 percent of the population and killing 80,000 people instantly.
