The Christmas Truce, was a truce between both sides of the trenches, when the troops came out of the trenches and celebrated, sang, and exchanged greetings. This showed that peace was still an opition between the nations.

Germans threaten that any neutral ships (American) in British waters would be destoyed without warning. Eventually leads to the US joining the war.

The Germans enlist the first use of deadly poison gas, clearing out trenches. Killed thousands of allied troops, and changed warfare as we knew it. The Germans would use it again in WWII.

The Germans officially begin the Battle of Verdun, with heavy artillery fire destroying anything in the trenches. This was a very deadly year long battle, showing the determination of Frances honor and pride to defend their country.

Submarine warfare was suspended to save the lives of the innocent, and ultimatly attempt to keep America out of the war. However, it did not work, and we came in and won it for the Allies.

The US officially enters the war, congress voted overwhelmingly to allow President Wilson to sign the declaration. US troops grew from 133,000 to over millions. This was a turning point for the war, and eventually helped it come to an end.

Allied forces begin marching into Germany establishing a hold and taking over. Soon peace talks would begin and the war would end.

A treaty that ended WWI, between the Central Powers and the Allied Powers. Signed in France, which points the blame towards Germany, leaving them crippled and eventually leading to the next World War.
