Sarajevo had been annexed by Austria-Hungary in 1908. The people of Sarajevo heard of Archduke visit, they then try to construct a plot to kill Archduke.

The war then concluded with both sides agreeing to an Armistice, not a surrender, but an agreed end to the war on both sides. After fighting constantly for years, both sides were tired of losing people, materials and just fighting overall.
