WWI was going to eventually happend because of the hatred and other things that had been building up, but this was the final ice breaker and Austo-Hungry had fed up with the crap and so the war began.

    On Christmas night in 1914 both sides of the trenches ceased fire. After awhile a man from the allies trench got up and walked to the middle where he met a man from the german side and they swapped a few words. After that both sides got toegether and sang christmas carols all night and drank even though they knew that the next day they would have to start killing eachother again.

    Chemical warfare first used in WWI by the German army turned out to be very deadly even when it didnt kill its enemies. The gases would harm or ruin someones life or the radation would mess up their genes for there kids and grandkids to, it caused longterm things that you could not change. After the war a petition was signed that noone could use chemical warfare again.

    The Lusitania was a passenger boat that was sank by a German U-Boat while at sea. When it sank more then 1000 of the passengers died and some of those were americans. This incident really sparked and made the American people mad that we were not in the war and they wanted something done about it.

    Verdun resulted in 698,000 battlefield deaths (362,000 French and 336,000 German combatants), an average of 70,000 deaths for each of the ten months of the battle. The battle of Verdun was a large battle of missles and bombs so when one was killed, lots were killed or injured because of so many explosives, over a million missles were fired during this battle.

    Sussex Pledge said that the Germans could no longer target passenger boats and sink them, since the Germans had a problem with this. But after awhile, the Germans broke the Sussex pledge and the Amerians had, had enought and were going to take action.
