The Battle of the Somme, also known as the Somme Offensive, was a battle fought by the armies of the British and French against germany. British Commander in Chief Sir Douglas Haig calls a halt to his army's offensive near the Somme River. After the british commander calls a halt, all the conflict of this battle stops.
