    Wanted to Punish Serbia for encouraging terrorism and saw the assassination of one of their leaders as they're perfect opportunity to do so.

    Stalemate at the Western Front

    There was a long lasting stalemate at the western front because of the new weapons and trench warfare. All these new forms of combat made it really hard for the other army to find a way to break through the opponents defense.

  • Japan Declares War on Germany

    Did this to defend it's Ally Britain but also saw Germany's war moves as a potential threat

  • Italy Joined Its Allies in War

    Joined to support its allies Austria Hungary who was also allied with Germany

  • First use of poison Gas in war by the Germans

  • The British ship Lusitania is sunk by Germany.

    This gave a reason to the US for joining the war. This was because on that ship 128 Americans died.
