    It all started when a 19 year old boy went to kill the Archduke for the clan he was in. He did it so the Slavs could have their country back. It did nothing but make Austria mad and spark WW1
  • WW1 Begins

    Germany invades Belgium to get to France. They come up with a plan to not fight a two front war. They do not expect Russia to move so fast and it ends up failing and they have to fight at two fronts
  • Germans begin Using Gas

    Germans begin Using Gas
    Germans use a large amount of gas to force their enemies out of their trenches. They used shells full of chlorine gas. It almost takes out the whole French line but they did not push up.
  • Submarines

    In reaction of the Germans sinking The Lusitania they limit the amount of submarines being used. This was a way to keep the Americans out of the war so they don't get over run. The Germans get pretty mad because America can send more things to the French
  • Tanks

    The British send out the first tanks ever seen. They deploy them at the battle of Delville Wood. They were mainly used for destroying barbed wire so the rest of the army could have an easy path.

    America enters the war under the presidency of Wilson. He goes to congress to join the war to help the Allied powers. Congress agrees and they wage war against Germany.

    Selective Service Act
    Congress passed the act so they could draft new soldiers. They needed the soldiers so they could join the war with a big enough army. Wilson saw it as the only way.
  • Germany and Russia peace

    Germany and Russia peace
    Germans sign a peace treaty to stop the fight in the east. They did it so they could move more soldiers to the west to fight France. They also got a lot of land in return for the treaty
  • Battle of Cantigny

    Battle of Cantigny
    First major American offensive in Europe. Only a small war. Americans go on to fight Germany finding them a threat.
  • Wilhelm Abdicates

    Wilhelm Abdicates
    Kaiser gives up and runs away. Ends up in the Netherlands. He lives out the remainder of his life justifying what he did was the right move that he could pull off.
