The Rape of Belgium
After Germany declared war on France they attacked Belgium. The attack soon became known as the Rape of Belgium because of how badly the Germans mistreated the civilians. During the attack property was damaged 23,700 civilians were killed overall and 837 communities were demolished. -
Lusitania
A year after the start of WW1 a German U boat sunk the Lusitania with a torpedo. There was more than 1,900 passengers on board including crew. There was more than 1,100 passages, 120 being american that had lost their lives during the attack. The deaths of the Americans had a great role in the decisions of the United States joining the war 2 years after the incident -
Battle of Loos
The battle of loos lasted from September 25th to October 8th 1915. It was the biggest french battle if 1915 as well as the first time the French used poison gas. The battle of loos totaled 50,000 casualties 20,00 of witch were deaths. -
The Treaty of Versailles
The treaties of Versailles brought on the official end to World War 1. Its 15 parts and 440 articles were negotiated by the allied forces with very little help from Germany. After the treaty was signed it took six months of allied negotiating to conclude the peace treaty.
