    On this day, Albert Ball obtained Royal Aero Club Certificate number 1898. He then wanted to be transferred to Royal Flying Corps. His transfer was granted and he trained in Norwich and Upavon.

    He was made number 13 Squadron at Marieux, France. Ball flew BE2c’s while in this squadron. He ] saw alot of action while flying these slow aircrafts.

    The battle of Verdun was the longest and bloodiest of all the wars during WW1. The battle was between Germany and France. The battle had a very big impact on the French army and was the main cause for the battle of Somme.

    On this day, Ball became a fighter pilot like he wanted. He now was going to show he was one of the finest pilots. HE built a small hut right next to the hanger so he could be in the air almost immediately.

    The battle of Jutland was a major naval battle during the first world war. The battle included more than 250 ships and approximitly 100,000 men. Britian eventually made Germany retreat from the war.

    Ball circled a german airfield encouraging someone to come battle. Two german pilots took this opportunity and went into flight. Both pilots went down but Ball only claimed one.

    It is also known as the 3rd battle of Ypres. In this battle, there was a lot of casualties and a lot of mud. The German wall was soon to crumble.
