    the triple allaince was an allaince of three countries, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. The were one of te two big allainces in Europe that actually started the War becuase of the assasination of Austrias prime minister which forced Austria Hungary to blame Serbia becuase of the nationality of the assasins, whoch then Austria soon declared war on Serbia to start World War 1

    Rise of Kaiser Wilhelm II

    Son of Frederick the III, became emperor of Germany in 1888, had a nervous breakdown in 1908 causing a lesser role in the government. He was the ruler during a big part of the Triple Alliance, and part of the European race to arms.

    Started between the French Third Republic and Russia in 1892, played a big role in the Triple Entente.

    European Arms Race

    The phrase arms race, in its original usage, is a competition between two or more parties to have the best armed forces. Each party competes to produce larger numbers of weapons, greater armies, or superior military technology. This means that this race was between European powers to get ready and prepare weapons for war. (1900-1914)
  • Creation of Triple Entente

    The Alliance between France, Great Britain, and Russia, that caused many allies and powers going into WWI against the central powers.
  • Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand

    The assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, by a Serbian terrorist group called the Black Hand, led by Gavrilo Princip. Led to the declaration of wars of the European powers.
  • First Declaration of war (Austria on Serbia)

    The first war that Austria-Hungary declared on Serbia, causing the rest of the wars to begin, starting World War I
  • Great Britain Declares war on Germany

    The British did this due to the invasion of Belgium by the German forces because of the Schleiffen plan, and due to the war Germany was in with Britain's allied powers, France and Russia.
  • The Battle Lines are Drawn

    Following the outbreak of World War I in 1914, the German Army opened the Western Front by first invading Luxembourg and Belgium, then gaining military control of important industrial regions in France. This started the building of thousands of miles of trenches.
  • Bosnian Annexation by Austria-Hungary

    The Bosnian crisis that came from Austria-Hungary, The annexation and reactions to the annexation were contributing causes of World War 1. Serbia and Russia protested to Austria-Hungary taking over Bosnia, but backed down when Germany said it supported Austria-Hungary.
