    Propaganda is the use of pictures and phrases to manipulate people's emotions and thoughts toward a war. This means it will try to get them to help with the war or to get young men to get to the front lines. Some posters tryed to get women to agree to letting their husbands to go to war.

    The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914. This was believed to be big part of the start of WWI because it was an attack on the heir to the throne and it's no different than if someone assassinated the president of the USA

    Trench Warfare. A new kind of fighting were troops huddled at the bottom of rat-infested ditches that were more than a mile in length. The men would either die of starvation or their feet would get infected with trench foot and suffer for a long period of time.

    Gas warfare was a new invention in WWI. It was invented by Fritz Haber. On April 22 to May 25, 1915 chemical gas was released at the second battle of Ypres Fritz was there personally to see it happen. Also the unique thing about gas is that it is the only thing pert of war you can make a for sure immunity to.
  • Lusitania

    The lusitania was a british ship that was launched in 1906 and in it's time on the water it made 202 atlantic crossings. When the lusitania sank it was May 7th, and it was carrying 1,198 passengers and crew. The lusitania sank to the seabed in an incredible 18 minutes. The lusitania sank in this incredible amount of time because not only wa it carrying passengers and crew it was also carrying arms and ammunition on it's way to Britain.

    The first time tanks were ever used was in World War. The British mark 1 tanks were used at the battle Flers-Courcelette on september 15th, 1916. Most of the tanks didn't work, some broke down, some got destroyed in testing but almost ⅓ of the tanks worked and succeeded in breaking through

    On january 31st, 1917 germany announced that their u boats would engage in unrestricted submarine warfare. They did this because found out that america was shipping arms to britain even though they were a neutral party in this war. This took place around the british Isles, germany declared this a war zone for britain. This meant that all ships even savilian and neutral countries ships would be sunk if they tried to enter.

    On February 25, 1917 british intelligence gives wilson the zimmermann telegram. This was a message from German foreign secretary Arthur Zimmermann proposing an alliance between germany and mexico incase Germany goes to war with america. And Germany promised in return the “lost provinces” of texas and more of america's south west.

    The sedition act was an act in 1918 that prohibited people from printing, publishing or talking out against the war. This was put in place in order to keep people from harming war plans or divulging military secrets. The sedition act was an extension of the espionage act

    The Treaty of Versailles was a document signed at the end of World War One in order to limit Germany's military power, so they couldn't start another war. The Treaty of Versailles was signed and created by the allied powers and some associated countries.
