At the beginning of the war austria hungary declared war on serbia and russia, germany, united kingdom, and even america got involved. -
Germany Joins the war
Germany crossed the border of Belgium and started the invasion with the Belgium people. they moved into Belgium which kick started the war. -
First battle of Marne
In the first battle of Marne British troops fought september 6-9, french british troops confronted the invading german army which have penetrated northern france. as german troops advance into the french alps british french troops pushed them back. -
Gallipoli campaign
After a failed attack on the dardanelles. allied forces led the biggest britain led a large scale invasion on Gallipoli peninsula. and failed suffering 250,000 casualties. this all happened between 1914 and 1916. -
Eastern front
On the eastern front germany began their advance into russia and got stopped when russia stoped their advanced. as russian troops began the long fight with the germans. but this didn’t stop the red army until 1914-1916 when russia changed powers and immediately halt russia war effort. -
America enter world war One
America remained neutral, however Germany had the waters of the British isles to be considered a war zone as U boats were sinking neutral countries ships. When a British ship named the Lusitania sank with hundreds of american passengers and British passengers on board. then congress passed a law bill of $250 million to prepare america for the war.
