    The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand is credited to be the start of World War One. He and his wife are shot by a Serbian. He is from Austria-Hungary.

    Austria-Hungary was infuriated. They wanted revenge. After Austria-Hungary knew that Germany would help them, they declared war on Serbia. Serbia also had allies and was getting ready for war.

    American declared war on Germany on April 2nd. On April 4th American officially was a part of the war. Congress passed a $250 million dollar bill to prepare for the war.

    A collision between two ships which ended with high explosions. It was between a Norwegian supply boat and a French cargo boat. It was the largest manmade explosion of its time. It left 2000 dead and 9000 injured.

    This was the official end of the war. The treaty was written in Paris. In the treaty, it created the League of Nations. The League of Nations was used to try and stop open warfare.
