  • Battle of Limanowa

    This was a 17-day battle. Austria pushed Russia eastward. This push gave Austria the upper hand. Austia gained new power and confidence in their campanges.
  • Assasination of Archducke Franz Ferdinand and his wife

    Gavrilo Princip, the killer was Serbian. This lead Austria to offer an ultimmatum to the Serbians, which if not met would lead to a war.
  • Austria rejects Serbia's offer

    This rejection leads to Austria declaring war against Serbia. Due to Serbia's allience with Russia, the Russians take action imedietly. Now more parties are becoming involved in this massive war.
  • Triple Entante

    The Triple Entante declare war on the Triple allience starting WWI. By starting the war, the Triple Entante caused a chain of events that would kill many and disrupt so many countires econonmy and political structures.
  • Allies Attack Germans

    This happened in the valley of the Marne River. Eventually the Germans retreated. This retreat gave the allies more power and confidence in future battles.
  • Gallipoli Campagne

    British, Australian, New Zealand, and French troops make assults upon the western side of the Gallipoli Penninsula. These campagnes caused a detriment for the allies due to the many lives lost.
  • Germans Attack French

    Near Verdun the Germans attack the French. Each side lost more than 300,000 men total. This was a huge loss for both sides, largley influencing the economies and determination of both sides.
  • British Help French

    The British attack the Germans in the valley of the Somme River. Over 1/2 a million casualties were counted. The British gained about 5 miles. This new land helped strengthen the British forces.
  • Unrestricted Subarine Warfare

    The Germans used submarines without letting the ships around Britain know when the subs could possibly be around them. This became a stealthy way for the Germans to attack. This advancement in technology helped the Germans to get one step ahead of the other countries.
  • Intercepted Telegram

    Zimmermann, Germany's foregin secretary, wrote a letter to Mexico asking them to ally with them, in return for Germany helping them reconqure some of their land lost to the U.S. The British intercepted this note and made it public. The U.S. enter the war on the side of the allies.
  • Change of Power

    Vladimire Lenin seizes power in Russia and offers Germany a truce. This means that a compomise between the two could finally stop the destruction war causes between the two. Germany agrees to the truce and peace is brought between the two contries.
  • 2nd Battle of the Marne

    The Allies and Germans go head to head once again. Allied forces advance steadily towards Germany using their new technology of the tank. This vehicle was able to travel over tough terrain due to the tracks on the wheels. Their top speed was around four miles an hour. This advancement in technology helped them get ahead of the game during their time of war.
  • End of WWI

    Germans sign a truce, and declares themselves a republic. Peace settles after major distruction and many lives lost. Finally all countries involved in the battle have time to work on rebuilding what was lost during the destruction of the war-time.
  • Treaty of Versallies

    Germany and the Allied powers make a compromise and sign a treaty after heated arguments between the French, British, and U.S.
