    Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
    Ferdinand was heir to the throne and prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Ferdinand along with his wife were shot and killed in Sarajevo by serbian Gavrilo Princip. This event sparked the beginning of WWI.

    The battle was a campaign that took place on the Gallipoli peninsula. The allied powers attempted to control the sea route from Europe to Russia, but ended up failing in doing so. It all began with a failed naval attack by British and French ships on the Dardanelles Straits.

    Lusitania sinks
    The British ship Lusitania is suddenly torpedoed by a German submarine. The total number of crew members and passengers on the ship was 1,959, and 1,198 drowned(128 Americans). After the torpedo made contact with the ship, the ship sank in about 20 minutes.

    The battle became the longest and costliest battle in WWI. Took place on the hills of northeastern France. Germany realized that their arch enemy wasn't France, but Britain, also Germany had to defeat France in order to destroys Britains will. In overall, France won this battle.

    Britain are now going on the offensive and are planning to attack Germany. the British ended having many casualties because lack of power from their artillery. The first day of the battle has been called "the worst day in the history of the British army."

    The telegram message was sent from Germany to Mexico. Germany wanted to form an alliance with the country of Mexico. It was the British who ended up intercepting this message before it got to Mexico, and this is what ultimately brought the U.S into WWI.

    The U.S senate takes a vote with the outcome of 82 to 6 to declare war on Germany. We ended up joined up with our allies, Britain, France, and Russia to fight and battle in WWI. The U.S did not want to go to war, and wanted to be at peace, but the U.S ended entering the war and the soldiers had no other choice, but to fight.

    Russia withdraws from war
    Bolshevik Russia signs the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, and completely abandoning the allied war effort of Russia. By doing this they granted independence to its Polish and Baltic territories, along with Ukraine and Finland. Russia withdrew fro the war because they were losing and it was affecting their society; they were running out of resources.

    This battle that took place in France was one of the first actions of the American Expeditionary Forces. This battle was a part of the Second Battle of the Marne. In the end of it all, it resulted in allied victory.

    The battle became the most largest and deadliest in the history of the U.S army. Our army was not prepared whatsoever and was simply not a modern army. The Argonne forest was made of steep hills and revenes; a perfect defense, and at this time the Germans had control of it.

    The word armistice is basically saying to have a truce, to come to an agreement and be at peace. It was document that was signed at Le Francport, this ended fighting, whether it was on sea, land and air in WWI. This document helped end the war, because none of the countries fighting in WWI wanted war and they were losing men and resources.

    It was a a peace treaty between the allied powers and Germany. This document was the most important factor that ended WWI. The treaty was signed exactly five years after the Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which directly cause the start up of WWI.

    First Meeting of the League of Nations
    Their first council meeting as a whole took place in France. This meeting was held exactly six days after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. This meeting takes place because of an agreement of the league of nations;ratified by 42 nations in 1919.
