    The Zimmerman Telegram was sent to the Ambassador of Germany in which it said Germany was wanting to set an alliance with Mexico. Mexico would've attacked and distracted the United States so Germany wouldn't have to worry about them, but the telegram was intercepted by the British and decoded, and then sent to the United States.

    This armistice was the one Germany asked the Allies for to stop fighting. It was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. It stopped the fighting and was used instead of a surrender because Germany knew they weren't going to be able to win anymore.
