Wilson went against Charles Evans Hughes, Wilson had won. Wilson's campaign slogan was"He kept us out of war." During his campaign he promised American Neutrality. The promise was later broken due to the sinking of the Housatonic, Sussex, and Lusitania. -

President Wilson receives a telegram from British intelligence saying that Germany want to be allies with Mexico and promising that they will return Mexico's "lost provinces" Texas and the American Southwest. Mexico declines the offer. -

The Bolsheviks party was led by a man know as Valmir Lenin revolted against the Czar Nicholas II in 1917. The reason the party revolted was because Lenin saw the conditions Russia was in and decided it was time for a revolution. -

On Nov. 11 1918, the war is offically over. The war left 21 million people injured from both sides. This war was known as "the war that ended all wars". -
Treaty of Versailles
The Germans sign a peace treaty with the Bolshevik government of Russia. The terms of the treaty gives Germany a tract of land from Ukraine and Poland. It also gave them peace on the East Front which allowed the Germans to move their solders to the Western Front, which was a problem for the United States, Britain and France.
