    The Germans sign a peace treaty with the Bolshevik government of Russia. The terms of the treaty gives Germany a tract of land from Ukraine and Poland. It also gave them peace on the East Front which allowed the Germans to move their solders to the Western Front, which was a problem for the United States, Britain and France.
