    Germany declared war on France the day before Germany invaded Belgium. They did this to hopefully capture Paris faster. Belgium was on the way to Paris so it made it easy to invade.

    The ship was carrying 1,960 people when it sank. Only 767 of the 1,960 people survived. The Lusitania sank in 18 minutes leaving many dead.

    This battle was one of the first major battles of WWI. It was also the first offensive of WWI. Cantigny was picked for the attack because of its location in France.
  • Battle of St. Mihiel

    Battle of St. Mihiel
    This battle started when 300,000 Americans file into the German Lines. The U.S. had 7,000 casualties. Germany had at least 17,500 casualties.
  • Armistice Day

    An armistice is signed that ends war on the western front. Everyone agreed to end the war. The armistice ends the war on November 11, 1918.
