    WW1 starts on july 28, 1914. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand; the archduke of Austria-Hungary, started WW1. The United States didn't want to join the war; they stayed neutral until after a few years.

    Belgium
    Belgium declined Germanys request to leave neutrality and stayed neutral. The British government promised to protect Belgium if Germany decided to attack them for turning down their request. Belguim stayed neutral, but was protected from germany by the British government.

    Naval Convention
    France, Great Britian, and Italy sign a naval convention. They signed this to help defend the countries waterfronts agaisnt the germans. This was especially ueful in the mediterrean.

    There was an unnoficcial christmas truce made between countries on christmas eve 1915. Apperantly on christmas eve 1915 the french soldiors stationed at northern France and the German soldiers stationed there too stopped fighting and played football. They weren't keeping score they were just playing a friendly game of football.

    Blacklist
    Great Brtitain passed a black list forbidding British firms doing buisness with some U.S. firms. The U.S. was highly against the blacklist. They argued with the British government to have it removed.

    The U.S. enters WW1
    The United States decides to join in on WW1. The United States joins because 128 U.S. soldiors were sunk in a British ship by Germany. April 6, 1917 was the day the United States declared war on Germany.

    Secret Message
    Germany sent out a secret message to Mexico to see if they would join the war against the allies. The message was intercepted and decoded by the Britsh analysts. Mexico declined to join the war.

    Fourteen Points
    Woodrow Wilson creates the Fourteen Points to show how they can get to peace. The Fourteen points presented a way for all countries to keep the peace. It was turned down and replaced with the Treaty of Versailles.

    Everyone rejoices as WW1 comes to an end. Allied forces triuphed over Germnay and its allies. Troops return home to a joyful reception.

    The Treaty of Versaillles is signed after WW1 ended. This treaty was created by the BIg Four. These four countries were the U.S., France, Great Britian, and Italy.
