    • The importance of Alliances prior to WWI is that it allowed countries protection in cause they got attacked or need help. Like when Serbia need help Germany was their to help them in there war. And without Alliances there would be no world war it would just be between two countries.

    Austria-Hungry declares war on Serbia

    • Austria-Hungry made all these demands to Serbia. But Serbia did not follow through with any of them. 6 months after the death of Fanz Austria-Hungry declared war. Soon after that other European countries started declaring war on each other. This was because of the alliances that were formed in 1882 and 1907. This is what causes the WWI.     Stalemate on the Western Front

    The Germans wanted to quickly end the. They came up with a plan called the Schrieffer Plan to make a vast encircling through Belgium into the north part of France. They wanted the french to surrender most of their army. This plan failed because the Germans were stopped at the battle of Marne. The fight became a stalemate as neither the Germans nor the French could dislodge each other from the trenches they had dug for shelter. The Western Front had become bogged down in trench warfare. -Textbook

    Sinking of the Lusitania - source Ducksters

    The Lusitania was a British luxury ship known as the biggest ship in the world at that time. The Germans claimed the water around Britain a war zone and warned people if not to go into there or they would attack. However, people did not believe that they would attack the Lusitania because there were so many people on board. They were wrong on May 7, 1915 a U-boat spotted the Lusitania and fired a torpedo and the ship sunk of the 1,959 people on board only 761 survived and 1,198 were killed.

    • The causes of the Russian revolution were that the workers were angry because of the low pay they received when they worked crazy hours. And there were food shortages. This caused a revolution lead by Joseph Lenin to over throw the government.
