    The crown prince of Austria Arch Duke Francis Ferdinand is murdered in Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip. As a result the Austro-Hungarian government declares war on Serbia.

    The United States declares it's neutrality and offers to mediate the growing conflict, and Irish Americans denounce any assistance to Great Brittan.

    the battle of the marne was the first tragic battle of the war taking a massive 500,000 casualties from each side and this imfulenced the war immensely because it just fuled the fires further more and tested the peoples patience

    the passengers we warned nort to go on boats going into ceartain territorys because it was a war zone and ther was a possibality that they would get sunk for saftey reasons and thats exactly what happened because the germans knew the lusitania contained munitions and contraband destined for the brittish war effort so the germans sunk it which ignited a powder keg which ultmately drew the united states into the war

    wilson is renominated by democrats while preping the nation for entrance into the war on the allied side under the slogan "he kept us out of war" which is sort of a contrediction and immensely affected the war.

    Germany continues its unrestricted submarine warfare after letting its submarine fleet reach over one hundred sub which imensely effects the playing field allowing germany to dominate the seas and also the land by sing supply boats containg supplys and ammunition so they have a huge alomst unfair advantage

    A brittish secret service agent intercepted a telegram from the german foreign minister to the german ambassador in mexico basically asking them the join germanys side for the war and when they win they will help mexico reclaim texas,new mexico, and Arizona which just frustrated the americans after it was made public and this just gave mor reason to win the war
  • Selective Service Act

    The Selective Service Act is passed allowing the registration and draft of males between the ages of 21 and 30. This immensely effected the war because it allowed the United States to force Americans to serve in the war which increased the strength of our armies by having more active men serving in the army.
  • The Espionage Act

    The Espionage Act is passed by congress to prevent spying. This effected the war by creating a level playing ground because neither side was ahead of the race by knowing each other's plans for the war and making further attacks fair game.
  • The Fourteen Points

    Wilson made his famous fourteen points speech for peace which outlined a liberal attempt to settle the war.
  • The Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles is signed under the terms in which Germany is required to take the blame for the whole war and to surrender it's oveseas colonies and pay the total war debt of thirty two billion dollars.
  • The downfall of President Wilson

    President Wilson suffered a stroke in Colorado on a crosscountry tour to promote popular support of the Treaty of Versailles and The League of Nations. He decided to keep his reign as president even with his poor health condition instead of turning his power over to the vice president.
