    The Rise of Hinduism

    Hinduism is said to be one of the earliest religions and is still majorily around today being the third largest religion in the modern day. In Hinduism acts or worship includes making personal offerings to thier dieties with the three major ones being Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer. As well, acts or worship include repeating the names of their favourite gods and goddesses, repeat mantras, and using water, fruit, flowers and incense as offerings.

    Judaism is said to be one of the oldest monotheistic religions starting sometime in the bronze age and gaining popularity before both Christianity and Islam. It was said to have started about 4,000 years ago and had been spread through trade by Jewish merchants.

    In ancient Mesoamerica, they worship many deities and had a religion modernly known as Olmec, although it’s said to have died out ages ago. It was known for it’s mythological and supernatural elements and was led by rulers, priests, and shamans. The popularity has been predicted to be between 1200 BC to 400 BC.

    Celtic paganism was at its peak between 700 BC and 400 CE and was flourishing in a time known as the Celtic Iron Age. The religion was known to worship numerous Gods and Goddesses. Acts of Worship include putting treasured items in ritual shafts, wells, water, and wetlands. As well as holding ceremonies in sacred groves, shrines, and in temples.

    Hellenistic Religion

    Commonly found in ancient Greece, the Hellenistic religion was a late form of ancient greek religion and was at it's height of popularity from 300 bc to ad 300. It's known as one of the most creative periods in the history of religions as well as it's influence. The period of time started wih Alexander the Great when greek cultures mixed with other's that were in Alexanders empire.

    As Christianity began to spread in Europe, the popular polythetic religions of Egypt began to decline. It was said to be brought over from Saint Mark and in modern-day Egypt it's the second most popular religion. It was introduced in the 1st century and was said to have spread fully by the 4th.

    Around 313, anyone that wasnt Christain had harsh laws placed against then that were ment to surprese the idea of stopping sacrifiace or anything considered magic (an example of this is how Roman pagans were known to consult fortune tellers) as well as the closing of other religious temples. The laws were more locally enforced, while others spread throughout the Roman empire but not all were very effective.

This also included the Olympic Games since the origins of the games were part of a religious festival meant to honor the God Zeus, who was worshipped as the father of The Greek Pantheon of deities.

    Christianity slowly replaced the Norse Religion when it was first encountered through settlements in the Christain British Isles and through the trade system. Christianity was spread throughout the Viking period and by the 800s part of the population was already Christian. As the religion continued to spread, Christanity took rise starting in the 10th century and by the 12th century, the Old Norse religion had been replaced.
