  • 1st Womens Rights Convetion

    In this year, the first women's rights convetion was held. It was located in Seneca Falls.
  • National Women's Rights Convention

    The first National Women's Rights Convention takes place in Worcester, Mass., it attracted more than 1,000 participants.
  • National Woman Suffage Association

    Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton form the National Woman Suffrage Association. The primary goal of the organization is to achieve voting rights for women by adding an amendment to the Constitution.
  • NAWSA

    The National Women Suffrage Association and the American Women Suffrage Association merge to form the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA).
  • National Associatio of Colored Women

    The National Association of Colored Women is formed, It brought together over 100 black clubs. Some of the leaders were Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin, Mary Church Terrell, and Anna Julia Cooper.
  • Congressional Union

    Lucy Burns and Alice Paul created this union to get women the right to vote. The party was later renamed the National Women's Party.
  • Margaret Sanger

    She made brith control for women. She opened the first birth control clinic in 1916. Also, she started Planned Parenthood.
  • Women's Suffage Amendment

    The federal women's suffage amendment was introduced to Congress. It was originally written by Susan B. Anthony. It was passed by the Hosue to the Senate and then sent to the state for ratification.
  • 19th Amendment

    This amendment was added to the constitution in 1920. It finally gave women the right to vote.
  • Women's Bureau

    The Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor is formed. They collect information about women in the workforce and safeguard good working conditions for women.
