Slaves were prohibited in the louisiana purchase, which made slave owners mad because there was more free states then there were slave states. They were also mad because this caused them not allow them to expand. -

It got harder and harder to find compromises that fit every one, it took five different laws to got to the compromise of 1850. They fixed the law by giveing more land to the people that were mad. -

Many people from the north did not like the fugitive slace act beacuse it allowed slave cetchers to pick up a free afircin, and say they were a run away. This act was also part of the compromise of 1850. -
The kannsas-Nebraska Act
This was the last straw in dividing the country about slavery. This law replaced the missori compromise. It was made to make the mid-eastern railroad. This made the northerners brakaway and make there own goverment, which startes a war. -
John Brown is Black
John Brown was part of the Bleeding kansas, killing people. He start a liberation movement among slaves in Harpers Ferry. During the raid on Harpers Ferry, he killed 7 people. Which got him killed. -

This act prevented slavery in the new mexico land even though the law wasn't pases, this is what started north versus south. -

John brown and his sons killed pro-slavery people. This then started a war between the north and the south. -

In this case a afirican was born into slavery then the family moved to a free state then back to a slave state. Then the slave wanted his freedom but the owner wouldent allow him to. So he wanted to sue them but he couldent beacause he was not a white man there for he was not a us citizen. -

The united states was divided in half and election time was coming up so they had to do some thing about it. They voted and the north won.
