He was born the 19th of May 1890. He founded the Vietnamese Communist Party and was the leader of North Vietnam until his death. Ho Chí Minh is one of history's great mass murderers, among other things, during the so-called "land reform" murdered an estimated 120,000 to 900,000 people.

The U.S. Decided to send troops to Vietnam in 1965, so on March 8 3500 U.S. Marines landed near Da Nang i South Vietnam. They were the first U.S. troops who arrived in Vietnam.
It was as an response to the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 2 and 4, 1964. That the President Lyndon B. Johnson decided to escalate the Vietnam Conflict. -
