Amerigo Vespucci was born on March 9, 1454 in Florence, Italy.

According to a letter Vespucci made his first voyage to Cadiz Spain on May 10 1497. According to the letter they passed through the West Indies, and didn’t see any islands, then after 37 days arrived in the mainland of central america. They returned in October of 1498.

In may of 1499 he went from Europe to South America across the Atlantic Ocean to Golfo De Santa Maria then he went to Northern South America to the Orinoco River then he headed back to Europe in June of 1500.

He left from Europe and went to Cape Sao Roque in South America. After he went South until he stopped at Rio de la Plata in Southern South America. He continued to the bottom of the contenant then returned to Europe in 1502.

When Amerigo Vespucci returned from his voyage to Portugal he revealed that the land to the west that they thought was Asia wasn't Asia, and it was different land. It was the land later to be called America

In 1505 Amerigo Vespucci cancled his citizenship in Flourence, and became a Spanish citizen.

After becoming a citizen Vespucci was made the pilot-major of Spain. He oversaw the licensing and training of the pilots of Spain.

On April 14 1505 Amerigo Vespucci married Maria Cerezo.

Vespucci's theory of the new land was published. In 1507 they called the mainland of South America "America" is Amerigo Vespucci's honnor.

Amerigo Vespucci died in Seville, Spain in Febuary 1512 of Malaria.
