Uses of Technology

  • Playing with technologies

    Started to engage with technologies from a very young age. Television and VHS set were likely to have been used from an extremely early age.

  • Games Consoles

    I started to voluntarily play on games consoles sch as the PlayStation1, Sega and Nintendo GameBoy for pleasure.

  • First Computer Use

    Started to use computers in the school IT lab. This was mainly for play but also some work was done to allow us to come to terms with the basic workings of a computer.

  • Started to use more sophisticated technologies.

    As I grew older and more confident with technology, I started to play on more sophisticated consoles such as the PlayStation2.

  • Email Account Established

    Started to use email to communicate within the school's LAN. This would have been my first online account.

  • Online Accounts

    I established a Bebo page to communicate with my friends over the internet and made an online PlayStation3 account that allowed me to game online with freinds and strangers.

  • Internet enabled phone

    I first started using a phone that enabled me to go onto the internet. As a result, I created a facebook profile.

  • More Social Media Accounts

    I set up a Twitter and Instagram account

  • Further Social Media Accounts

    Set up Linked in and a blog a few months after. This was mainly for "work" or for professional reasons.
