    The pilgrims
    A group of pilgrims sailed from England to America, ´´the New World´´ on the ship the Mayflower. They left England because they wanted political and religious freedom.The first winter was very cold and 45 people died from the extreme temperatures and from hunger, but the pilgrims didn´t lose hope. By the 1750s, the British had 13 colonies on the east coast of North America and about two and a half million colonist lived there. But France and Spain also owned big areas of land in North America.

    The Mayflower was the famous ship that the pilgrims travel to Great Britain from ´´the New World´´. The owner was Cristopher Jones and he was the operator, too. It´s capacity was around 135 people during the historical voyage to Plymouth.

    From 1754 to 1763, the British army and the colonist fought the French over land in North America. The British won the war and got some of the French land. But later, the British government asked for taxes from the colonists to pay for the war. The 13 colonies decided to join together to fight the British. On 4th July,1776, the colonies declared independence from Great Britain. They called USA.

    The American Civil War started because the north want to abolish slavery and the south want slaves and plantations. Abraham Lincoln was the president of USA while the war. He wants the abolish of the slaves. Unfortunately, thousands of people were dead, but at the end the north win the war.
