    PFLP 4 Hijackings - Jewish Passengers Held Hostage
    Members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hijacked four airliners bound for New York City and one for London. Three aircraft were forced to land at Dawson's Field, a remote airstrip in Jordan.
    While the majority of the 310 hostages were transferred to Amman and freed, the PFLP segregated the flight crews and Jewish passengers, keeping the 56 Jewish hostages in custody, while releasing the non-Jews.

    Early in the morning, the bus departed from Avivim heading with its passengers to two local schools. This route had been scouted by the terrorists. As the bus passed by, it was attacked by heavy gunfire from both sides of the road. The driver was hit in the initial barrage, as were the two other adults on board. The three were killed as the bus crashed into an embankment as the attackers continued firing into the vehicle.

    Operation Entebbe/Thunderbolt was a successful hostage-rescue mission carried out by the Israel Defense Forces at Entebbe Airport in Uganda.
    A week earlier, an Air France airliner with 248 passengers was hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
    Israeli transport planes carried 100 commandos 2,500 miles to Uganda. The operation, which took a week of planning, lasted 90 minutes. Of the 106 remaining hostages, 102 were rescued.

    The Coastal Road massacre was a hijacking of a bus in which 38 Israelis, including 13 children were killed and 71 wounded. The plan was to seize a luxury hotel in Tel Aviv and take tourists and foreign ambassadors hostage in order to exchange them for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
    The timing was aimed at scuppering the Israeli-Egyptian peace talks and damaging tourism in Israel.

The next day residents of a refugee camp died in a traffic accident. Rumors spread they had been killed by Israelis. Mass rioting broke out, in which a Palestinian was killed after throwing a Molotov cocktail. This sparked a wave of unrest in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem.

    This was a suicide attack carried out by Abd al-Hadi Ghanim. On a crowded Egged commuter bus en route from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Ghanim seized the steering wheel of the bus, running it off a steep cliff into a ravine in the area of Qiryat Ye'arim. 16 civilians died in the attack—including two Canadians and one American.
    The incident is the first Palestinian suicide attack despite the fact that the attacker survived.

    Israel Radio reported that one bus was in flames, while windows were blown out of the second vehicle. Both buses had just left the city's central bus station. Most of the passengers on the second bus, no. 12, fled the bus before the bomb exploded on hearing the first explosion.

    On the morning of 18 November 2014, two Palestinian men from Jerusalem entered Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue, in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, and attacked the praying congregants with axes, knives, and a gun. They killed four worshippers, and critically wounded a responding Druze Israeli police officer, who later died of his wounds. They also injured seven male worshippers. The two attackers were then shot dead by the police.
