    The assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife triggered World War 1.
    Garvrilo Princip , a student that lived in Serbia, fired the shots that killed Ferfinand and his wife as they stoped before leaving town. Franz and his wife decided to go and inspect the Austro-Hungarian troops in Bosnia. The Black Hand supplied a group of students with weapons for the assination.

The Allies did not know about the treaty, and continued negotiations to keep the Turks neutral. In the last days of October is when it got bad, The Turkish troops bombared Russina ports on the Black Sea. This is when France, Great Britain and Russia declared war on the Ottoman Empire.

    Their strategy for war against Russia was the Schefffein Plan which called for an initial attack against France, Russia's ally. So even though Germany had no dispute with France at the time, it still declared war against France. The first wave of German troops assembled on the frontier of neutral Belgium, which in accordance with the Schlieffen Plan would be crossed by German armies on their way to an invasion of France.

    Germany declared unrestricted warfare against all ships, neutral or not, that entered the war zone around Britain.This was all merchant ships, including those from neutral countries, were liable to be sunk without warning. Within a month, a German cruiser had sunk the William Frye, an American vessel carrying grain to England.

    Two German Zeppelins where based in Fuhlsbüttel in Germany, It carried lots of fual and a couple of bombs, and also about 30 incendiary devices. The Emperor had stoped the attack on London, he was concerned about Royal family to whom he was related. The Zeppelines where very quite and arrived without warning bombing the cities.

A Armistice, which is an agreed, temporary cease fire between opponents in order to discuss formal peace terms, was signed in a railroad car in France.The terms of the agreement called for the cessation of fighting along the entire Western Front to begin at precisely 11 AM that morning. After over four years of bloody conflict, the Great War was at an end.

The treaty was needed because it was such a awful and bloody war. The total deaths of all nations who fought in the war is thought to have been 8.5 million with 21 million being wounded.
