  • Great Awakening

    Great Awakening
    The Great Awakening was important because it changed people's
    religious views. During the Great Awakening ministers would go around giving sermons to people even if there were only one or two of them. One British minister brought thousands to his sermons.
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War was important because it led to the British being in debt. During this war the British and the French both had Indian allies. At the end of the war the French won and Britian was in debt.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was important because it banned any further British Colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. Colonists did not like this proclamation. Although, the British did like it.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was important because it involved paying taxes.
    This was cause because the British government need money to pay off the French and Indian War. Colonists were extremely mad that they had to pay taxes, while the British were alright with it.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act also created a tax, just this time on buying seals or stamps. This again was also caused by being in debt from the French and Indian War. This act also required people to purchase a stamp when they bought any type of paper.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts placed military soldiers at certain places. This was caused because of all the smuggling.The soldiers were used to guard glass or expensive items. The Colonists tried boycotting this act.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was important because it involved Bostonians being killed. This happended because of the tension between the British and Boston. The Bostonians tried covering this up, but it did not work.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was important because it put a tax on tea, since so much was sold every year. The Act was made by Tea companies to try to make more money. Colonists were in opposition of this.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was important because ot shows that the colonists can fight back and not just be handled. During this colonists dumped a lot of Tea in the Boston Harbor to show that they rebell against the Tea Act.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts created four new laws for Colonists. This was caused because of the Boston Tea Party. The British hoped that these laws would work, but the Colonist critized.
  • Battle of Lexington/Concord

    Battle of Lexington/Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was important because there was a shot heard around the world the started the war. To this day we still don't know who fired it. This battle involved people called minutemen. These men would show up when need in battle.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was important because the British were fighting to gain land. Minutemen were also involved in this battle too.
  • Common Sense

    Common Sense was a document wanting seperation from Great Britian. The author that wrote this argued that citizens should be in charge not Kings and Queens. This was a very heroic statement.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was important because it stated the United States freedom from England. In this document there were 50 statements why they should have independence and how the King of England was bad.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga was important because it ivolved the British and the Americans fighting. The Americans luckily got away with a victory in this fierce battle.
  • Battle Of Yorktown

    Battle Of Yorktown
    The Battle of Yorktown was perhaps one of the greatest battles in the American Revolution. During the Battle George Washington and his troops of American and French soldiers made the British army of 8000 give up utter defeat.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris was a very important document because it showed that Britian understood the United States Independence. Also the Treaty helped with the United States boundaries.
