  • Signing of the Declaration of Independance

    The day that the 13 American colonies and Great Britain decided to be at peace.
  • Ratification of the United States Constitution

    The U.S constitution was adopted and signed but had to be ratified by nine of the 13 states to become a binding.

    The patent issued for the Cotton Gin let people to be able to remove anything that was in the cotton faster.
  • Lewis and Clark Expedition

    Going on to September 23 1806, this was the time period where tho travelers explored the west.
  • First mill built in Lowell, Massachusette

    The Boston Manufacturing Company built a textile mill next to the Charles River.
  • Trail of Tears

    This was a time period when Andrew Jackson permitted the indian removal policy so Cherokee Indians were forced to move west. It was a devastating journey that was long and painful.
  • Gold Discovered at Sutter's Mill

    This discovery was at Sutler's Mill, which eventually lead to the Gold Rush.
  • Signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    This treaty ended the Mexican War and added 525,000 square miles to the United States territory.
  • The Battle of Fort Sumter

    It was the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter near Charleson, South Carolina, that started the American Civil War.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    Lasting two days, the Battle of Gettysburg was fought in and around the town of Gettysburg, by Union and Confederate forces during the American CIvil War.
  • The Battle of the Little Bighorn

    It was an armed engagement between combined forces of Lakota, Northern Cheyanne, and Arpaho tribes.

    Lasting until December 31, 1939, it was the longest economic downturn in the history of Western Industrialized world.
