    The Boston Massacre was a sad event that took place in 1770. Five colonists were shot by British soldiers. They fired their weapons because the colonists were throwing things at them. This event led to more anger at the British soldiers and the British king.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    The American Revolutionary War happened from 1775 to 1783. The Revolutionary War was a conflict between Great Britain and thirteen of its former North American colonies, which declared themselves the independent United States of America. The fighting primarily took place on the North American colonies. The Treaty of Paris ended the war in 1783 and we acquired more land.
  • The Decleration Of Independence

    The Decleration Of Independence
    On July 4th, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted one of America’s most cherished documents. The one who wrote it was Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence voiced the reasons for separating from Britain and provided the principles of government which the United States would be built.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana territory was purchased by president Thomas Jefferson in 1803. The treaty to the land was dated April 30th, but they actually received the land in December of 1803. The two main impacts that affected the United States was that they gained more land and they got control of the Mississippi river.   • The Lewis and Clark Journey West

    The Lewis and Clark Journey West
    President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark out in 1803 to explore the Louisiana Territory. Meriwether Lewis was responisble for noting the plant and animal species that they found along the way. William Clark was to make maps of the territory.The two main impacts of the expedition is that they made maps and discovered new plant and animal species. The Lewis and Clark journey west impacted our nation greatly. (McDougal Littell, Pages 346-349)
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    The Donner Party, which occured in 1846, was led by George Donner and James F. Reed. They were a group of American pioneers. They set out for California in a wagon train. One person in the group led the party in the wrong direction and they had to pass through the snowy mountains of Sierra Nevada. The Donner party is famous for cannobolism. This is because they got stuck in the mountains when it snowed and they had run out of food. So when each of them died they ate each other. (History.Com)
  • The Attack On Fort Sumter

    The Attack On Fort Sumter
    In Charleston, Harbor, Fort Sumter was running out of supplies. President Lincoln had to decide if he wanted to send supplies or surrender the fort. He wanted to send supplies. Confederate leaders decided to attack the fort before the supplies arrived. The Confederates opened fire on April 12th, 1861. After 34 hours Anderson surrendered and that marked the beginning of the Civil War.

    Women's Right To Vote
    Two separate women suffrage groups merged to form the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1890. By 1896, only four states allowed women to vote. The states were Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. The House gave woman voting rights by passing the Nineteenth Amendment in 1918. The Senate approved it in 1919. The states approved the Nineteenth Amendment and made it a law in 1920.

    The Attack on Pearl Harbor was a military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base. The attack happened at 7:48 a.m. It was attacked by Japanese fighter planes, bomber, and torpedo planes. The attack led the United States into World War II.

    The Supreme Case: Brown V The Board Of Education
    In the early 1950s the supreme case of brown V. the Board of Education was born. Five school came together under the title of Brown V. Board of education. On May 17th, 1954, the Supreme Court issued a ruling saying that segregation in schools as illegal. Many black students would still get attacked in school, but they could still go to school and learn.
  • JFK Assassination

    JFK Assassination
    The 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was assassinated at 12:30 p.m. on Friday November 22, 1963. He was fatally shot by Lee Harvey Oswald while traveling with his wife, Jacqueline, in a presidential motorcade. A ten-month investigation happened from November 1963 to September 1964. They figured out that Oswald acted alone while shooting Kennedy. The Presidents death marked the fourth and latest successful assassination of a President of the United States of America.

    The Death Of Elvis
    Elvis Presley, “the King of Rock and Roll”, died on August 16th, 1997. He was 42 years old. Elvis died because of a heart attack. His family is covering it up, but most people think that he died over an overdose.
  • September 11th, 2001

    September 11th, 2001
    On September 11th terrorists took control of four commercial airliners and used them as weapons to crash into The World Trade Center. The fires caused the tallest buildings in the nation to crumble. About 2,500 people were killed. Another plane flew into the Pentagon. The person who was responsible for this was named Osama bin Laden. He was later shot and killed.
