  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was an important part of history because, it was a symbol of British Tyranny in the colonies. Evidence for this came from 5 colonists being shot by British soldiers. British soldiers fired their weapons because colonists were throwing things at them. Lastly this event led to more colonial anger towards the British people.
  • The Declaration Of Independence

    The Declaration Of Independence
    In the Declaration of Independence, the colonists realized it was time to fight for their freedom, from the book "Common Sense". Congress then elected a committe to create and draft the Declaration of Independence, with Thomas Jefferson being the leader. Lastly, it was important because, the idea said that people had their natural rights and the government nor anyone could take it away.
  • The Lousiana Purchase

    The Lousiana Purchase
    The Lousiana Purchase was made by Thomas Jefferson it was purchased from France. This purchase led to the Lewis and Clark journey which gained us new species of plant and animals, and new accurate maps of the West. This purchase was important because, the United States grew economically, territorially, and politically from it.
  • The Lewis and Clark Expedition

    The Lewis and Clark Expedition
    In The Lewis and Clark Expedition, Jefferson chose two young people by the names, Meriwether Lewis, and William Clark to lead an exploration. Next, In the spring of 1805 they met a Native American named Sacagawea that helped them on their journey. Finally, Lewis and Clark brought back valuable information but it was mostly important because, the expedition produced the first good maps of the Lousiana and the West, and we gained information about nearly 200 new species of plants and animals.
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    In the Trail of Tears, President Jackson declared that all indians were to be moved West. The Cherokee tribe refused to do so and went to the courts to gain thier land back. They won this trial but President Jackson forced them to move anyway. This event was important because it affected how the whites moved West and how the Indians were going to live for the rest of their lives.
  • The California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush
    In the California Gold Rush, a carpenter named James Marshall from Northern California, while building a sawmill discovered gold. This caused people all over the U.S to migrate to California, which caused the California Gold Rush. The gold rush was important because while it lasted it migrated people to California and changed California permanently because of the economic growth.
  • Donner Party

    Donner Party
    In the Donner Party a group of immigrants, traveled West but they decided to take a shortcut. This led to rougher terrain, and it led them to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Which led to heavy snowfalls. They ran out of resources and they were starving. This led to killing family members for food. This event was important because this family was very desperate to stay alive and move west, that they took the risk of eating thier own family members. (History.com)

    The Fugitive Slave act was an act that helped slaveholders recapture runaway slaves. This act was important because it drew more people to the abolitionist movement because the North thought this act was not fair.   • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    Uncle Tom's Cabin
    Uncle Tom's Cabin was a novel made by Harriet Beecher Stowe, it represented slavery in a horrible and hard way through Harriet Beecher Stowe's experiences.   • Harper's Ferry

    Harper's Ferry
    Harper's Ferry was a raid happening in West Virginia. It was led by John Brown, and an armed band of abolitionists. This event was important because The raid was intended to be the first stage in a plan to establish an independent part of freed slaves in the mountains of Maryland and Virginia.   • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    The Attack on Fort Sumter
    In The Attack on Fort Sumter, Robert Anderson's troops were running out of supplies. So the president Lincoln decided to help them and send out some supplies, from sending the supplies a great war started.   • Emancipation of Proclamation

    Emancipation of Proclamation
    In the Emancipation of Proclamation, Lincoln issued it declaring that all slaves in confederate-held territory were free. The proclamation caused commotion, but it did free a few slaves. Bust sadly a few slaves in far areas still remained under the control of their masters or their owners. Lastly, this event was important because it was the time president LIncoln finally decided to do something about the slaves, and help them gain their freedom.
  • Lincoln Assasination

    Lincoln Assasination
    In the Lincoln assasination, John Wilkes and famous actor, hatched a plan with several other people to kidnap the president, but thier plan backfired. So then Wilkes created an unexpected assination of Lincoln. He shot president LIncoln on April 14, 1865. At play Ford's theater. Lastly, this event was important because president Lincoln's assasination caused a lot of commotion between the people.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
    In Brown v. Board of Education, five schools came together on a segregation case under the title of Brown v. Board of Education. On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court issued a ruling on Brown v. Board of education which said segregation in school or work would be illegal. Lastly, this is important because the ruling led to integrated schools and no segregation towards students.
  • The Death Of Elvis

    The Death Of Elvis
    In the death of Elvis, the 42-year old star was found unconscious at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. Presley's doctor said that a "Heart Attack" was a possible cause of death. Lastly, he was found by his girlfriend collapsed on the toilet. This is an important day, because millions of people gather annually to re-visit the "King" at his home.

    September 11, 2001
    In, September 11, 2001 terrorists took control over commercial airlines and decided to attack the U. S. The terrorists flew the planes into two towers (twin towers), in the World Trade Center, NYC. About 2,500 people were killed, and U.S determined the terrorists group was Islamic held by Osama Bin Laden. This event was also very important because it was the time were terrorists decided to attack the U.S.
