both picture and informationWas a way for southern states to try to get non-whites to not have as much freedom as white people. White Primaries is elections that are for the canidates to become govenor or president of teh country.Sadly nobuddy but white people could vote in that elections. White primary elections started around 1890's through 1940's. The Supreme court ruled white primaries were unconstitutional. -
integration of armed forces

Some regiments were put on missions that they were more than likely to fail or if they failed it wasn’t a big deal wouldn’t care that much about the mission they were asighned. -
Brown vs. Board of Education

It was jump start for the civil rights was because they were saying how much things were not separate and equal. This helped African- Americans get into schools with a better education that they did not have the chance before to do but this caused alot of racial descrimination. They court ruled that it did not fallow the 14 admedment. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott

The Montgomery Bus Boycott started after Rosa parks on December 1 was arrested because she would not give her seat up to an white man. This was one of many laws to try to take civil rights laws away. When she was jailed the African- American community was out raged so they came up with away to get back peacefully by not taking the buses. -
Georgia Changes its state flag

Two senators in the general Asembly named Jefferson Lee Davis and Willis Harden write up a senate bill called the 98 bill. The bill was sighned into law Feburary 14, 1956. -
Little Rock Nine

They were selected on grades, behavior, and attendance of school. The first day of school they were not let into the school by the National Guard. -

The students didn’t want them to be allowed be into their school. Three weeks later president Eisenhower flew in the 101’s airborne to walk them to class and to make sure no one hurts them. The 101 airborne stayed with them till after their Christmas break then they departed. -
Bombing of the hebrew building

This was one of the wealthies and oldest synagouges in Atlanta. An U.P.I staff had gotten a bomb threat but though nothing of it. The rabbi was a civil rights speaker and was a friend of Martin Luther King. -

The Sibley commisions was a debate over wether to close public schools so they would not be segerated or to fallow the government descion. Their was a commettie that was incharge of getting details over wether the residents want to do. -
Integration of university of georgia

This was the day in 160 years that their had been no African- Americans at the school.Hamilton Holmes and Charlayne Hunter were the first two people to be in the college classes. The university had rumors that the state government wasn't going to fund the schools that lett afican americans into their schools. This caused a huge riot at Hunters dormiotory. -
Freedom riders

Summerhill Race riot
