  • Seneca Falls Convention

    Seneca Falls Convention
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott held the first women's rights convention in American histroy. Women had no say in their social, economic, political, and religious life. That's why this was held in order to protest against this mistreatment. Here more than 300 men and women created the Decleration of Sentiments and Resolutions, which were based on the Decleration of Independance. These men and women wanted the harsh treatment of women by men to stop.
  • National Women's Rights Convention

    National Women's Rights Convention
    Those who attended the Seneca Falls Convetion were so inspired that they wanted more women's rights convetions. Therefore, the first national women's rights convention was held in Worcester, Massachusetts. Here more than 1,000 delegates from 11 states pilled into Brinley Hall. Many women spoke here, demanding that they be granted equal rights as those that man had. Following this monumental event came the creation of many more women''s rights convetions.

    National Women's Suffrage Association
    Founded by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, this association was formed to gain women their rights. They were the main suffrage orginization of the 19th century. All members of this organization fought strongly for what they believed in and never gave up. The NWSA was very successful in spreading the word of women's rights and had much success in accomplishing their goals.

    Wyoming: Women's Suffrage
    Women in no area what so ever, ever had the right to vote, until 1869. When the territory of Wyoming granted and accepted the law proposed that would allow women the right to vote. However, it may seem as if the territory had good intentions, it's said that they did it merely for free publicity. Women in the end were given the right to vote even if the state may not have been thinking about women's suffrage.

    The National Women Suffrage Association and the American Women Suffrage Association merge to create the Nationla American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA).
  • Colorado: Women's Suffrage

    Colorado: Women's Suffrage
    The state of Colorado is the first state to grant women the right to vote. More suprisingly it's men that give the women of Colorado the right to vote. making this state the first to grant women the right to vote given that only men voted. However, many other states follow in their foot steps granting women the right to vote.
  • The National Women's Trade Union League

    The National Women's Trade Union League
    This league was formed for working class women. Its purpose was to make the working conditions and pay for women just as good of those of men. More importantly it saw all classes of women as equals, uniting all women. The hard work of these women formed a noew working-class feminism. This organization helped unions who were fighting for the same cause, women's suffrage.

  • The Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor

    The Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor
    This was established to create standards and policies for wage-earning women. Created to make sure that all women who decided to work would be treated properly be everyone. It allowed women to be capable to grow with their work and potentially have a future in their specific field. Finally, it enabled the mistreatment of women in the work place to be disengouraged because this bureau had the authority to report the incident.
  • 19th Amendment

    After many decades of fighting for their rights, women had recieved the right to vote. The long and enduring fight had begun in the mid-19th century. However, because no one gave up and continued fighting for what they wanted and dreamed of, women had finally gained their right, the right to vote.
