    Christopher sailed from spain on the Pinta, The Nina and the Santa Maria on August 3, 1492. He meant to go to Asia to bring spices back to spain but he discovered the americas instead. He first landed in the Bahamas and later found Puerto Rico. But in October he found the land of the americas.

    Jamestown was the first permanent settlement in the United States of America. It was an English settlement and was located in the colonies of Virigina.
  • Small Pox Epidemic (Native Americans)

    When the Europeans came into North America, they brought the harmless disease of Smallpox. But to those, the Native Americans, who didn't have an immunity built up to it, it was deadly. About 90% of Native Americans died from the Smallpox epidemic. From 1618-1619

    The first college was founded, which was Harvard. The college provided education and experience for the colonists and immigrants and pilgrims. When one college was formed, others were sure to ensue, which created a chain of education for the public

    Witchcraft was made a crime in the English Law, which unfortunately brought the Salem Witch Trials and killed 20 people, 14 which were women and many many more were accused. from 1692-1693.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    This was when the thirteen colonies rejected the monarchy and anarchy of the British and their judicial system. And the thirteen colonies decided they wished to be their own nation and control their own government. The American Revolution brought the seperation of Britain and United States and thus created the Declaration of Independence and kick started a independent nation. The American Revolution ended September 3,1783.
  • The United States Constitution

    The constitution is that "Law of the Land". It was created with seven articles and twenty-seven admendments in it that state the absolute laws that set the foundation for the U.S. They state the rights of those in the U.S. as well. These laws are absolute and will never change.
  • Supreme Court was created

    The supreme court was created in accordance with the provision and authority of the Judiciary Act. And it was organized on February 2,1790. There are nine judicial branches that make up the highest level of judicial precedence over the United States.

    Jefferson was able to expand the American Territory to about double its original size. The land was bought from France. The treaty reached Washington, D.C on July 4, 1803.
  • Lewis and Clarks exploration

    Lewis and Clarks exploration
    Lewis and Clark began their expidition of the unexplored territory from St. louis and Camp Dubois and began their journey through the Missouri River. This brought the result of expansion through the U.S. for people to live and harvest and prosper their lives and business. It made population grow along with business and economy.

And also showed many countries that America could in fact, protect itself and helped put up a front that said it was inpenetrable. The war lasted two and a half years.     The Industrail Revolution occured from the year 1820 to 1870. Many useful inventions were created during this time period that helped build and prosper production, business, and economy in the United States. Steam engine, railroads, cotton gin, the telephone and sewing machine.

    August 8, 1829 was when the first locomotive was created and tested and thus launched a wave of railroad frenzy. Railroads were lining prairies and land and bringing forth business and people to live in areas. Railroads brought expansion and built America into an even bigger business empire.

    This Act was passed by Congress. The Indian Removal Act forced all Native Americans out of the Southeast, and the Supreme Court tried to rule it as unconstitutional but Jackson defied the court and wouldn't let them enforce the ruling. So the Act continued.

    The annexation of texas brought texas to be a part of the United States and seperated Mexico from The United States and this caused tension between the two nations. And the state of texas entered the United States as a Slave state. which later prompted Mexico and the U.S. to start the Mexican-American War.

    Set a border between the British and the United States. It showed where Canada was and the U.S. was. The Rocky mountains seperated the two and the U.S. side had the oregon territoy while the British has the Canadian territory. It created the 49th parallel.
  • Abraham Lincoln Elected

    Abraham Lincoln helped put an end to slavery and being president he was able to enact on his ideas and goals. He was elected in the year of 1860 and was the 16th president and he was the first president from the Republican Party.
  • Civil War

    The civil war seperated the South and the North entirely. One was for slavery and one against. South being pro and North being against. They fought over the slavery matters and North won in the end, making the abolitionists over rule and help put slavery to an end. The civil war ended in April 9,1865

    Thirteenth Admendment (The Abolition of Slavery)
    The abolishment of slavery (Thirteenth Amendment) was ratified on December 6, 1865 but was passed January 31, 1865.
    The Admendment abolishes slavery and makes it illegal for a person in the United States to be a slave unless its for a crime where the criminal was dully convicted.
  • Fourteenth Amendment

    Fourteenth Amendment
    The Fourteenth Amendment stated that African Americans were no longer slaved, but they were freed and could now consider themselves citizens of the United States of America. It gave equal rights and had equal protection laws. Those that were previously slaved had the same rights and equality as those native born to America.

    Voting Rights Act of African Americans
    Bill stated that it was illegal to impose any type of restriction that denied black males from the freedom to vote. Was passed by Conggress and was ratified February 3, 1870.
  • Immigration Began

    Immigration Began
    The pilgrims were the first immigrants to enter North America in the early 1600's. But once civilization and business took flight, in the 1800's, about 1880, immigrations started pouring into the U.S. for multiple reasons. The potatoe famine (Irish), Germans (from the holocaust), and many more. But immigrations highest point of numbers were from 1880 to 1920.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    Chinese Exclusion Act
    The Chinese Exclusion Act was the first federal legislation restricting immigrants. It made new requirements for the Chinese to fill and prevented them from gaining citizenship and the rights that everyone else in the U.S had obtained. The Act expired in 1892, but was extended for another 10 years in the form of the Geary Act.
