France gave up all the land around the Mississippi River and Spain gave up Florida. France then no longer had any land in North America so France had no more threat to Spain.

Spain needed to inspect the conditions in TX. After completing his tour, he recommended that Spain abandon TX, close most of it's missions, and pull back its presidios. Only the La Bahia and San Antonio missions could stay.
