    Proclamation of 1763

    The English government stopped the settlers from expanding westward. This caused the colonists to defy them and keep moving in that direction. In doing this, the colonists stirred up feelings of rage and worry in King George. Anger of the colonies ignoring a direct order and worry that they would break from british ruler
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    The English placed a tax on sugar, coffee, and other goods of trade in the colonies and West India. This made the colonists angry because it caused harm to their merchants, that were already taking a hit from the French and English War. Yet, the English believed it was the right idea.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act

    The English though to put a tax on stamps to help pay the soldiers in the French-English War. Although, the colonists believed it to go against their rights, so they wouldn't allow it to go through without representation from the English. The Stamp act caused the Sons of Liberty to from.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    The Stamp Act was revoked on the same day as the Declaratory act, since the colonies boycott English goods. The Declaratory act stated that the English Parliament had as much power in the colonies as in England. This caused the colonists to be angered.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act

    This act raised taxes on imports to pay British officials in the colonies. The colonists did not like this idea and started to rebel against them. Although, this evolved into the Boston Massacre of 1770.
