John Calvin established his doctrine which then developed the Calvinist Religion. Calvinism was mainly practiced by Puritans from New England. -

Nathaniel Bacon ignited a rebellion that took place in Virginia with the backcountry farmers and indentured servants. -
Salem Witch Trials
In Salem, Massachusetts a witch-hunt began which resulted in twenty people killed including two dogs. Nineteen were hung and one was pressed to death.
